Why to get married

In human society, marriage is a very old concept of sexual cohabitation of two or more partners of different or the same sex, but still most often between one man and one woman. But is marriage necessary in today's relatively liberal world? What are the main arguments for getting married?

Marriage is understood a little differently in different cultures and, in addition to legal norms, it is very often influenced by religion. There can be many reasons for marriage. However, the most common include:

• legal support of married couples,
• joint upbringing of children,
• social status,
• cost savings,
• acquisition of citizenship of another country,
• striving for a long-term partnership etc.
